Pada tanggal 29 Desember 2011 - 1 Januari 2012, Book For Mountain mengadakan VOLUNTOURISM Desa Keningar - Gunung Bromo. Kegiatan ini didasari oleh keinginan untuk mengajak serta teman-teman traveler untuk ikut serta memberikan sumbangsih langsung terhadap penduduk lokal sebagai volunteer. Harapannya, teman-teman yang ikut dapat lebih mendalami kearifan lokal suku Tengger. Alasan lain adalah kami ingin ikut memajukan perekonomian Desa Ngadirejo dan pariwisata Taman Nasional Semeru-Tengger-Bromo pasca erupsi Gunung Bromo. Dalam kegiatan ini, kami menggunakan beberapa rumah dari penduduk lokal sebagai homestay, jasa ojek lokal untuk transportasi voluntourist selama di lokasi, dan membagikan bibit sayur untuk para petani. Sepuluh persen dari yang Anda keluarkan akan digunakan untuk penyediaan buku-buku perpustakaan anak di Gunung Kerinci, Project Book For Mountain di Januari 2012 nanti. This program aims to invite the travelers to contribute directly to the local people as volunteers. We wish, the participant will recognize the local wisdom of Tengger tribe. Other reason is we would like to revitalize the economic sector of Ngadirejo Village and tourism sector of Semeru-Tengger-Bromo National Park after the Bromo Eruption. In this program, the local people take part as well. We use some of their houses as homestay, local motor-bikers as voluntourist’s transportation, and provide the vegetable seeds to the local farmer. Ten per cent of the fee will be use as books donation for children library on Mount Kerinci, Book For Mountain’s next project in January 2012.
